  1.     PC TIMECHK 2.01a SHAREWARE FOR PC/AT OR BETTER USING DOS 3.2 OR HIGHER

  3.     PC TIMECHK is a tool for all PC Users who run MS Windows or have time
  4.     and date critical applications, i.e., accounting programs, data base
  5.     or customer receipt transactions, or for those who just want to see
  6.     their PC run on time.  PC TIMECHK self installs and will run before
  7.     any executable programs, even Windows, and lets you see your PC's
  8.     current date and time.  This full screen, windowed program provides
  9.     both local, 12 hour and the PC's internal 24 hour CMOS clock time, the
  10.     day-of-the-week, month, date and year.  To reset, press one key and
  11.     enter new settings.  PC TIMECHK validates your entries, resets the
  12.     CMOS clock and calendar permanently (see requirements).  A full fea-
  13.     tured calendar is available and provides monthly calendars from 1980
  14.     through the year 2099.  Self termination is just one of the many fea-
  15.     tures.   About 45 seconds after start up, PC TIMECHK  will begin a 60
  16.     second "count down" to its self termination.  PC TIMECHK will not keep
  17.     your PC from booting.

  19.     In addition to the above features, all the standard US holidays can be
  20.     displayed on their date, or you can program your own 56 character mes-
  21.     sages, special dates, remembrances or announcements with USERLIST, PC
  22.     TIMECHK's unique date utility.  You can create, change, copy or delete
  23.     special dates in any number of PC TIMECHK data files.

  28.     Read the installation instructions below for a fast and complete
  29.     installation of PC TIMECHK and USERLIST.  PC TIMECHK comes with its
  30.     own install program that will automatically add PC TIMECHK to its
  31.     own directory (TIMECHK), update your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and its
  32.     "path", your option.  A copy of your original AUTOEXEC.BAT file is
  33.     made and renamed as AUTOEXEC.CHK as a backup.

  39.     REQUIREMENTS:

  41.     IBM PC/AT or compatible using DOS Version 3.2 or higher.  It is not
  42.     recommended that PC TIMECHK be installed on a PC or PC/XT since
  43.     these machines' date and time cannot be set and maintained through
  44.     any version of DOS.  Only 286 or better PCs using DOS 3.2 or higher
  45.     can set their AT CMOS internal clock's date and time through DOS.

  47.     INSTALLATION:
  48.  
  49.     IMPORTANT - Shareware BBS download file is named PCTIME2A.ZIP for 
  50.     one disk installation or PCTIM12A.ZIP (Disk 1) and PCTIM22A.ZIP
  51.     (Disk2) for two disk installation.  PCTIME2A.ZIP will unzip into 
  52.     22 files totaling 753K bytes.  It's suggested that you unzip these 
  53.     files onto a 1.2MB or 1.44MB floppy diskette.  Use this diskette 
  54.     for installation to your hard disk.  Not all files are copied on 
  55.    to your hard disk.  INSTALL looks at your PC's equipment and copies 
  56.     only those files needed.  Shareware INSTALL Verion 2.0 or Version 
  57.     2.0a IS REQUIRED when installing PC TIMECHK Version 2.0, 2.01 or 
  58.     2.01a and is included on the distribution diskette.

  60.     STACKER, DBLSPACE OR OTHER COMPRESSION SOFTWARE - Some testing of 
  61.     PC TIMECHK has shown unpredictable results when your "Target" Dirve
  62.     is Drive D: when using STACKER in a Drive C: (Stacker Drive) Drive 
  63.     D: configuration.  The same is true when when your "Target" Dirve 
  64.     is H: in a Drive C:, Drive H: DOS 6.0 DBLSPACE in a Drive C:, 
  65.     Drive H: configuration.

  67.     1.  Run PC TIMECHK's INSTALL.EXE program from any sorce drive to install
  68.         all necessary files to the TIMECHK directory, and update your
  69.         AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  70.  
  71.     2.  Place PC TIMECHK Sorce Diskette No. 1 in any floppy disk drive or
  72.         change drives, so you are pointing at the drive (and directory) con-
  73.         taining the source PC TIMECHK files.  Enter "INSTALL".  INSTALL will
  74.         copy the PC TIMECHK software and all required files to the hard drive
  75.         designated.

  77.     3.  Use the <Enter> Key or click on the left mouse button to accept the
  78.         default drive letters and answers shown by the INSTALL program.
  79.  
  80.         If you request INSTALL to update your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, "\TIMECHK"
  81.         will be added to your PC's boot drive path and "TIMECHK.EXE" will
  82.         be added after the PATH statement, after the mouse call or, if nei-
  83.         ther found, before any other ".EXE" file.

  85.     4.  When INSTALL has completed, remove your PC TIMECHK source diskette
  86.         and restart your system.

  241.     Release 1.51a is a result of having to recreate USERLIST after a major
  242.     drive crash and the loss of all source files.  Not nice!  Backup files
  243.     were of no help, so it was "back to the keyboard".  While I was at it,
  244.     I fixed the few remaining bugs (I hope) and added some enhancements that
  245.     I've been holding for future releases.

  255.     will have UTC (GMT) and 24 Time Zone support.  Hours/Minutes/Seconds/

  258.     date and upgrade fees.
